19th June 2010 – don’t miss the biggest ever motorcycle demonstration in Britain!

May 11, 2010

Westminster City Council in Central London have decided to go against common sense and stealth tax motorbikes and scooters for parking, while they are the transport solution to reduce congestion and pollution in large cities such as London.

While thousands of bikers continue to support the No To Bike Parking Tax campaign, which aims to force Westminster City Council to scrap their ridiculous and non-sense motorcycle parking tax, a large number of them keep gridlocking Central London every Wednesday morning, causing enormous traffic jams and chaos all around Trafalgar Square and Parliament Square and all the way up to Soho, Leicester Square and Piccadilly. Westminster City Council have decided to treat bikes like cars by charging them for parking, so the same bikes behave like cars on the roads, with each occupying the space of a car and delibarately causing congestion during rush hour, when everyone else is trying to get to work on time.

Scrap the bike parking tax or you'll never get to work on time on Wednesdays!

Thousands of bikers will take over the M25 on 19th June 2010

Westminster City Council ignored thousands of objections that were lodged twice in a row in 2009 and still went ahead with taxing bikers to park in their borough, because of course they are arrogant enough to believe that they stand above everyone else, including their own residents. So, in order to show Westminster City Council how unpopular their motorcycle parking tax is nationwide, the No To Bike Parking Tax campaign is organising the biggest motorcycle demonstration ever seen in Britain, with thousands of motorcyclists taking over the M25 (the London Orbital motorway) on 19th June 2010 from noon. The bikers will ride en masse all over the M25, passing each of the 31 junctions for 117 miles (187 kilometres) and calling at each service station for about 20 minutes.

This demonstration will take place a few days before Westminster City Council will be facing the High Court of Justice as a result of the No To Bike Parking Tax campaign having lodged a case against the council, accusing them to have introduced a motorcycle parking charge in a pure view to raising revenue, which is illegal in the United Kingdom.

Bikers from all over the UK are expected to attend the ride on the M25 and we have also heard that a number of motorcyclists from Belgium, France, Germany, Holland and Denmark will also be joining the fun, in solidarity for their British neighbours. Europe has never been so united!

Fancy joining the demonstration on 19th June 2010 and say NO to Westminster City Council’s bike parking tax before it spreads all over the UK and beyond? Then click here for further details.

Rule number one: don’t mess up with the bikers!

Please join and support the campaign to stop Westminster Council from stealth taxing motorcyclists to park before their scheme spreads all over the UK and the rest of Europe. For further details, visit

This event will be a show of force and will once more prove to the Westminster councillors that the bike and scooter community will not give up the fight against their stupid bike parking tax.
Bikers solidarity will win at the end, we are here to stay and we are more united then ever to defend our rights.

This London The Long Way Round M25 demo sounds amazing. I think it’s going to be massive! We must all tell everyone we know who rides a motorcycle or scooter to join us on Saturday 19 June 2010. Having read comments about this event, I understand that some people will be travelling to this demonstration from outside the UK. So if you are a rider in Great Britain, make sure you do your bit and join your fellow bikers on 19/06/10. Not only will the M25 protest send a strong message to Westminster Council (any any other council thinking of charging bikes for parking), it will also be a fun ride out around London.

Please spread the word about this motorcycle protest… 19 JUNE 2010 – London The Long Way Round (also known as The Great Lap of London). See you there!
